National Theatre Ivan Nobel Zajc, Rijeka

 

From 1946,. till today, with its 4 Artistic branch (Croatian Drama, Dramma italiano, Opera and Symphony and Ballet) and over 50 years of their continuity and quality, Rijeka National Theatre succeeded in positioning high Theatre and Art criteria and become one of the quality leading Croatian Theaters.

Rijeka National Theatre is working with classical and modern plays, trying to put on stage every chosen peace with modern, nowadays interpretation.
With regular program Theatre organizes special manifestation and summer festival with special attention for developing program for Children and young people.

''Zajčevi days''

This manifestation was held for the first time at the end of 1993. in honor of the great Croatian, Rijeka citizen composer Ivan Nobel Zajc.
From 2005. tradition of keeping this manifestation is taken by the Theatre IVan Nobel Zajc, with the introduction of new conception with fresh and enriched program.

With the start of Zajčevi days manifestation, which was held till now at the end of the calendar year, pay an intention for the others, not very known Croatian composers.

This manifestation is continuing form year to year to present and promote Croatian music creation in general, composers and peaces for different periods.

KamovFest
Manifestation founded in 2009. in honor of Janko Polić Kamov. main subject is the Rijeka's identity, first with her citizens. With Janko Polić Kamov, not only Croatian Literature Avant-garde started, but this ''curse poet'' started Avant-garde processes all over Europe. So it is not by case that this poet and his work is of a great interest  to European and world literature public.

Rijeka summer nights
Summer theatre-music festival in Rijeka. Program consist from Classical Drama, premieres of Modern Drama, Theatre street performances, Classical Music Concerts to Popular Croatia singers concerts.
Intention is to create on known and unknown Rijeka city spaces, Ambient Theatre, and to question correlation between Theatre and Architecture. Part of the program is held in abandon Factories. First year of the festival was 2004.

Saturday matinee in foyer
Another festival for music lovers, a few concerts performed by chamber ban of Opera and guests started in 2009. and influenced other Croatia Theaters to organize sam kind of events for the audience.

Children program
For a few seasons National Theatre Ivan nobel Zajc is developing program for the Children. With one play per season for Children from 06.-13. years theatre is also continuing with cycles of concerts, under name ''Concerts for young people''
In season 2009/2010 theatre will put on stage premiere of the Play ''Somewhere City'', multimedia play for children and Adults by Goran Lelas as a part of the program of Italian Drama.
Due to the great interest Theatre will repeat some of it's best plays for Children: Beauty and the Beast and Maja the Bee, 8000 youngest people met for the first time with Theatre and Opera.
