Supported by the Local Government of Budapest since 1992, the building houses three performance venues: Kolibri Theatre (for the family programme), Kolibri Nest (a theatre room for the youngest audiences) and Kolibri Cellar (for youth performances and theatre- in- education activities).
Kolibri stages 550 performances and receives 55.000 visitors per year, and regularly tours productions across the country and abroad. Formerly a partner within Glitterbird, Kolibri is now active within Small size, and Platform 11+ , all of which are European Union collaboration. The General Manager and Artistic Director is János Novák, a composer and theatre director.
There are 78 full-time employees, including 25 performers, half of them puppeteers, half of them actors. Young performers and guest actors also work in the theatre.
Kolibri is a repertory theatre with its programme consisting of the theatre's 30 most succesful productions presenting performances appropriate for all ages from 0 to 18.
